Review Policy

Review Policy

Independent, founder‑focused reviews prioritizing users, revenue, retention, and sustainable growth.

Purpose

  • Provide honest, business‑first reviews.
  • Help indie builders ship practical improvements confidently.

Independence

  • No paid placements or “sponsored verdicts”.
  • No money or gifts accepted for favorable coverage.
  • If a post is sponsored (rare), it’s clearly labeled and does not influence conclusions.

Access & Perks

  • Free trials, demo accounts, beta access, or temporary licenses may be used.
  • Vendor‑provided review licenses are disclosed and do not affect the verdict.
  • Some posts may include affiliate links to help fund the site.
  • Affiliate links are disclosed and do not affect scores or recommendations.
  • Potential conflicts lead to declining the partnership.

Methodology

Hands‑on Testing

  • Real workloads: onboarding, pricing clarity, time‑to‑value, reliability, growth levers.
  • Measured criteria: onboarding friction, conversion cues, pricing communication, retention mechanics, extensibility, support/docs.
  • Practical fixes over theoretical critiques with “ship‑ready” suggestions.

Scope & Limitations

  • Reviews reflect the product at the time of testing; software changes frequently.
  • Mainstream use cases prioritized; niche features may be noted but not exhaustively tested.
  • No reviews for products where I have a material financial interest.

Feedback & Corrections

  • Founders can request factual corrections with evidence.
  • Posts are updated with noted changes when warranted.
  • Major releases (pricing/features) may trigger a refresh or follow‑up.

Disclosure

  • Material relationships (affiliates, review access, sponsorship) are disclosed in each article.
  • Referral or partner links are explicitly stated where used.

Ethics & Privacy

  • No sharing of private roadmaps, internal docs, or confidential data.
  • User data captured during testing is minimized and deleted after review.

Communication

  • No pre‑publication drafts shared with vendors.
  • Open to constructive dialogue and clarifications via the contact page.

  • Submit apps via /app-for-review/.
  • Priority for clear problem statements, accessible demos, and active development.

Verdicts

  • Concise recommendations: ship now, refine and retest, or hold.
  • Includes practical next steps a founder can implement within a week.
